Visa guidance

Malta Student Visa

Professional guidance throughout the visa preparation process – from your document checklist to interview preparation.

Who needs a student visa?

Students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland – including Indian nationals – generally need a national (long-stay) visa to study in Malta for more than 90 days. After arriving, students apply for a residence permit for the duration of their studies.

Visa requirements are set by the Maltese authorities and can change. Your counsellor will always give you the current official checklist for your application.

How the process works

  1. 1

    Receive your offer

Get your offer / acceptance letter from the institution.

  2. 2

    Pay fees & gather documents

Pay the fees required by your offer and prepare your documents.

  3. 3

    Book your appointment

Book and attend your appointment at the authorised visa application centre.

  4. 4

    Biometrics & interview

Give biometrics and attend an interview if requested.

  5. 5

    Visa decision

The authorities review your application and issue a decision.

  6. 6

    Travel & residence permit

Travel to Malta and apply for your residence permit after arrival.
